Grace Christian International School is located on the campus of Grace Christian Fellowship in Ome, Tokyo. It is about one hour west of Shinjuku station.
2. Is GCIS an accredited school?
No, at this time GCIS is not accredited either in Japan or internationally. As we grow and mature we will consider the best options towards accreditation.
3. What is the difference between "home-school", "church-school", and traditional school?
Typically, traditional school puts the responsibility of educating children primarily on the educational institution while homeschooling puts that responsibility on the parents. Because of its smaller size and increased flexibility, church schools are able to add many of the advantages of homeschooling and yet still give the students opportunities to make friends, be involved in a wider range of activities and have the benefit of a greater range of experience and skill in instructors.
4. What is the language of instruction?
English is the primary language of instruction. Japanese is taught as a foreign language.
5. What are some of the activities that students are involved in?
Grace Christian International School students participate in a wide variety of activities including gospel music choir, film making, dramatic plays, mission trips, field trips, cultural experiences, sports day, and community service.
